FINALLY!!! The parts for the Paladin have cleared Customs and are being delivered to the garage tonight! We start working on modifying the Paladin tomorrow morning. This thread will show all of the modifications - step bystep. The following is a parts list for the modifications:

Today we installed thereinforced tire rods, finished adjusting the suspension, etc ... Wedecided to remove the bottom bar from the leaf springs because it hangsdown too low

不过这个雨林胎的路噪可够喝一壶的。。。。

E族的“小屠”曾经在他的80上装过类似的雨林胎，只一个礼拜就吃不消削价白白了~

配个耳罩？

yes, you must have a complete testing on the working status during the national holiday...so SuTan should be afterwards.

If we finish tomorrow, I was thinking of going to the F1赛车场废弃的越野公园 on Sunday, 27th, to test it. My thinking is that if something goes wrong or something breaks, it will be much easier to get the Paladin back to the garage from the F1 area.

What do you think?

今天Brian試開了帕拉丁，胎的噪音的確很大。　還好那個胎是改裝店的，他想借給我們去蘇坦玩玩，最後Brian決定明天取車時還是換成我們買的COOPER STT 265/75/16的胎。

Tonight we are workingon the transfer gears. This will reduce the 4L gearing to 3.97 andmake it easier for the Paladin to climb with the larger tires. You cansee that the new gears are larger than the originals, so the transfercase needs to be modified slightly. There are some places inside thetransfer case that have to be ground down for the gears to fit.

pls be careful on this copper tube when you install the airlock, if might be broken by the gear if it isn't in a right/comfortable position, i had the experience on my cherokee

Thankfully no problems. The one thing is the front right tire rubs on the fender when I make a hard turn, but that can be fixed easily at the shop tomorrow.

I will run it for another two days and then take it back to the shop to have everything checked and tightened.

The air locker works great too! It really makes a difference in how the truck pulls through the mud and climbs the hill.

Seriously though, I need to go to the F1 area several more times over the holiday to make sure that everything on the Paladin is tight and aligned right. We only finished the truck a few days ago and I want to make sure nothing comes apart when we go to Suzhou. I know the F1 area is boring, but if anyone wants to go along - send a message.

So yesterday we went back to the abandoned 4x4 track near the ShanghaiF1 and after playing around for an hour, we decided to try a new paththrough the water.  This is what happened ... http://bbs.fblife.com/viewthread.php?tid=968305&

今天中午和Brian獨自前往上海F1越野賽場測試剛改裝完的帕拉丁V6, 沒想到在一個新測試區進行第二次測試時陷車. 因為是剛改裝完車, 車內的自救裝備還沒有配備齊全,  Brian 嘗試自救近一個小時, 仍不能脫身, 車子就這樣牢牢地種在了稀泥地里.

正值十.一國慶長假, 實在不好意思在這個時候找人幫忙營救.  又進行自救一段時間後, 我們發現不借助外援力量是不可能開出稀泥地的了

...

打電話求救吧, 通過e族兄弟吉沒泥, 他幫忙聯係了一串熱心的朋友, 結果我們的運氣還真是不錯的, 斑竹Sieso當時就在附近,他二話不說就從午餐桌上下來, 10分鐘左右赶到F1賽場的陷車地點, 先是察看了陷車現場,很有經驗地在20分鐘內將我們拖出了泥潭.

後來經Sieso介紹才知道, 原來我們陷車的地方在以前是一個小河床, 廢棄之後長满了芦苇, 下面的泥潭的泥是很松軟很稀很稠的, 第一次測試時成功通過, 第二次就陷車了.

救出泥後, Brian再次嘗試同一條陷車路線, 結果再次陷車

. 這时Sieso決定駕帕拉丁同一路線穿越一次, 結果一次穿越就成功了

, 這正同他說的越野玩的是人的經驗非車也

, 佩服佩服!!!

直接去察看陷車的情況

種在稀泥里近二小時的V6

上車發動, 輪胎打滑得厉害

因為V6的車金頭有點偏離拖車道, Sieso決定在V6的車頭開出一條垂直新路

二,三個來回就搞定一片新路來

Brian 拖著絞盤繩走向陷車

帕拉丁漸漸被拖了出來

好了, 彻底解救了

哈哈, 現在一身輕松了

第二次嘗試, 同一地方再次陷車

慘啊

再次察看被陷車輛

第二次被拖出泥地的帕拉丁

出發了

在通過陷車地點前, Sieso作了不同的駕車速度和角度

結果左邊前後輪在略干的地上開過, 帶著右邊的前後輪在稀泥地里輕鬆穿通, 沒陷車!!! 贊 !!!

陷車地點可以很清楚地看到不同的輪胎痕跡

忙了幾個小時, 這陷車事件中最開心的人非他莫屬了, 一個小人玩水玩石頭玩篱笆, 玩得不亦樂乎

I haven't posted anything here for awhile. I have done a few more modifications to the Paladin, but nothing really spectacular. I added a valve on the ARB onboard air compressor so that I can air up my tires after going off road.

I finally installed the Warn Premium Manual Locking Hubs (Warn manuallocking front axle hub device). The installation was extremely quickand not very difficult. You have to make sure that you remove all ofthe parts from the Automatic Hub or the locking hubs will not fit.

I bought a hand-held radio for weekend trips. It is something that I have needed to get for awhile. Now I won't have to borrow a radio every time I go out.
